I have an A.B.J. (Bachelor of Arts in Journalism) degree from the University of Georgia, in Telecommunication Arts, with minors in English and Criminal Justice. I have been certified as a Master of Written English by Brainbench skills assessment service with no weak areas noted. I have also taken some courses in the Masters in Technical and Professional Communication program at Southern Polytechnic State University. I began my career in business communications in 1991. From 1991 to 1995, I was employed in the documentation and marketing departments of two Atlanta-based manufacturing companies. My duties in those positions included producing user manuals, video scripts, product tutorials, posters, and brochures. In 1995, I shifted my career to freelancing so that I could also be a stay-at-home mom. Some of my freelance projects have included: developing training materials for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, designing the interior page layout for "Memories from the Marshes of Glynn: World War II" and proofreading books for Gryphonwood Press. I primarily use Windows Vista, Adobe PageMaker 7.0 and the Microsoft Office 2007 programs, but I am continually adding/updating software, so if your program/version is not listed here, please contact me to see if I can accommodate your needs.
